How does one protect oneself against Terror attacks ?

I am a citizen of India n a resident of this beautiful city called Mumbai.On 26/11 we were witnessed to one of the worst Terror attacks.These rogues attacked office goers returning home after a hard day in their respective offices.The attack was so sudden that it took ordinary citizens by surprise.These goons came via the sea route n dodged the Indian Navy.In fact the authorities in Pakistan accepted that these hoodlums had undergone intensive training for 6 months to implement this attack meticulously !!!My question is does religion santify such attacks n if so then how does one protect oneself from such barbaric relion n such mindless attacks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
